Villa Monaco is a 16th Century farmhouse nestled in beautiful countryside with magnificent views of the vineyards and olive groves of Montepulciano. This historic farmhouse has been beautifully restored by its caring owners who have furnished it with traditional antiques and every possible comfort, creating an welcoming atmosphere of refined charm.
The villa is on two floors and provides accommodation for at least 14 persons in 7 lovely bedrooms each with carefully chosen furnishings and décor giving them their own unique character.
The villas interiors are spacious with various lounge areas and there is plenty of space for relaxing outdoors in the gardens surrounding the house so guests can enjoy Tuscany all year round.
The accommodation consists of two superior suites (60 sqm), two junior suites (35sqm) and three double bedrooms (30 sqm). All the suites and bedrooms are named after different artists who contributed to the rich cultural heritage of Montepulciano. In fact each room has pictures hung on the walls bearing their name. All the beds are superior king-size, with bedsteads made from handcrafted wrought iron, traditional ceilings of brick and wood beams have been preserved and there are lovely wooden floors. Antique sofas are covered in rich luminous fabrics, and natural linens create a wonderful play of light with the warm Tuscan sun. Each room has its own bathroom and these are an intriguing blend of old and new. Modern washbasins rest on 19th century mangers and liberty-style lamps illuminate the floors of Etruscan clay tiles.
The rest of the villas facilities include a fully equipped modern kitchen which opens through an archway into an equally bright and attractive dining room. The dining room opens onto a terrace with pergola that beckons guests outdoors to savour nature and dine in the open air. There is also has a cosy library with a fireplace on the upper floor, a second sitting room in which to relax, and a fully equipped laundry room.
Guests can choose to relax in the large garden surrounding the house. Equally enjoyed from the shade of an oak or elm tree, while stretched out on the grass, or comfortably seated under the cool wisteria pergola. Or just bask in the glorious Tuscan sun beside the Villa Monaco's splendid swimming pool (16m x 8m), which is also equipped with hydro massage jets and is placed in the sunniest, most open spot on the property. Whilst relaxing on the solarium terrace, guests can admire the panoramic view of the valley below and catch a tantalizing glimpse of the village of Montepulciano, at the same time enjoying the gentle scents of lavender and the surrounding woods in an atmosphere so typically Tuscan.
Perched on a hill and nestled between woods, olive groves and splendid countryside, Villa Monaco is only 500 metres (roughly a third of a mile) from Sant Albino di Montepulciano in the heart of southern Tuscany. It’s an excellent location from which to explore all of central Italy. The village of Montepulciano is only five minutes away by car and the nearest exit from the highway is only 15 minutes away making Perugia, Assisi, Siena, Cortona, Orvieto, Arezzo, and San Gimignano all only about an hour away by car. Even Florence and Rome can be easily reached from here by car or train.

As the house is located on a farming estate it has its own natural pond and produces olive oil and grain, providing a unique opportunity to observe the workings of a traditional Tuscan farm right on your doorstep.
