Villa Efisia

Villa Efisia is a charming country manor house comfortably furnished with many antiques and set in extensive grounds surrounded by unspoilt countryside affording lovely views for miles around. There is plenty of room for relaxing in the villa’s garden and by the private swimming pool situated in a lovely position in the grounds.

Villa Efisia is quietly situated in a lovely area of Tuscany between the famous towns of Volterra and San Gimignano. Immersed in beautiful countryside with fields and woodland all around, the villa is set in a peaceful oasis surrounded by its own grounds and gardens and has a large private swimming pool (19m x 8m).

The villa itself is spacious and comfortably furnished with many antique pieces and family heirlooms creating a warm atmosphere of a past era. On the ground floor is a huge and inviting living room with various cosy sitting areas with sofas, a large fireplace, a piano (decorative only), and even a turn of the century billiard table. There is a charming dining room, and a traditional kitchen with a large wooden table forming its centre piece, just as in times gone by. Both the kitchen and living room open directly onto the garden. Also on this floor is a shower room with washing machine, and a handy ironing room.

Steps lead to the first floor where there is a pretty lounge with settees and television off which is a breakfast room with dining table, chairs, hob and sink, as well as the villas six bedrooms.
The two master bedrooms, one with double bed, one with twin beds, both have ensuite shower rooms and open onto a large terrace overlooking the garden (flower vases only mark the perimeters of the terrace, there is no guard rail). There is are three further double bedrooms (one with ensuite shower room), a twin bedroom and a separate shower room.

Lovely gardens filled with lawns and ancient oak trees surround the villa and there is plenty of space for relaxing, or dining al fresco under dappled shade whilst enjoying the peace and tranquility. In a beautiful position in the grounds is a large private swimming pool (19m x 8m) which is furnished with sun umbrellas, sunloungers and enjoys a lovely view. There is also a barbecue and wood oven for guests use, as well as a small putting green for a spot of golf practice. The attentive owners offer Villa Efisia guests a welcome dinner on the evening on arrival and a farewell dinner on the evening before departure. Daily maid service (except Sundays) is also provided, there is an internet connection and telephone (payable locally).

The estate itself extends over two hundred hectares, and is bordered by woods and a nature reserve, so there are lovely country walks with a chance to see the local wildlife. Just ten minutes drive away in opposite directions are two local towns where there is a selection of shops and restaurants.
There is plenty to see in the area. Volterra of Etruscan origin, and famous for its alabaster production is just 20 minutes drive, and San Gimignano with its medieval towers is only 40 minutes away. Florence and Siena can be reached in an hour and the Tuscan coast also easily accessible with the nearest beach being just 30 minutes drive away.

Part of the road leading to Villa Efisia is untarmaced country road (7km approx) and access involves crossing a normally dry river bed, therefore not suitable for low lying cars.
