Villa Cortona

Villa Cortona is situated on a beautiful 5 hectare estate in a lovely area of Southern Tuscany between the famous towns of Montepulciano and Cortona. The estate consists of a beautifully restored manor house which forms the main villa and an annex. There is a lovely shaded terrace in the garden which is furnished and table and chairs for dining al fresco and overlooks the swimming pool and the valley beyond. The large swimming pool (14m x 6m) is set in a panoramic position below the villa and enjoys a pretty view of the countryside. Surrounded by lawns and terraces, it is furnished with sunloungers, sun umbrellas, and gazebo and there is also a round children’s pool with hydromassage area.

The main villa is on two floors; on the ground floor there is a large living room with settees and dining table and chairs which has large patio doors opening onto the garden, and there is a charming lounge with settee, armchairs, fireplace and satellite television. The fully equipped kitchen is in lovely country style and there is a handy shower room. Steps lead to the first floor which has three characteristic bedrooms, a shower room and a bathroom with small bath.
Next to the main villa is a separate annex building, furnished in the same pretty country style as the villa it has a cosy lounge with fireplace, kitchen with dining table and chairs, two bedrooms and a shower room.

The caretakers who live in a part of the villa with totally separate entrance and garden are friendly and helpful whilst not disturbing your privacy. They will happily arrange excellent home cooked dinners for you on request. Covered parking is next to the villa.

Montepulciano, renowned for its excellent wine, Pienza, for its pecorino cheese, and beautiful Cortona all being close by. The treasures of the region of Umbria with its famous hill towns of Perugia and Assisi to name but a few are also within easy driving distance and Lake Trasimeno with its beaches, sailing facilities, and ferry services to its islands is an interesting place to visit. The main motorway link is only 13km away, making also Rome and Florence easily accessible.

Villa Cortona is a perfect choice for a secluded holiday, for a group of friends, a large family or even a small wedding or celebration. Just 200m away is Villa Foiano, which can also be rented together with Villa Cortona to accommodate larger parties

Note: The villa is reached by a country road used only by intermittent local traffic.
